WTC Final:  Tim Paine backs India to win WTC final against New Zealand ‘pretty comfortably’

India and New Zealand will be competing against each other for one of the biggest championships in World Cricket in form of a Test Championship final and the winner of that competition will be coined as the first World Champion of the longest format of the game.

As all the experts are joining this contest to predict who will win the WTC final and Australian Test captain Tim Paine is the latest to join the bandwagon and he said that if India plays up to half of their potential then they can easily beat New Zealand in WTC final.

Paine was the captain of that side which was defeated twice by India in their own backyard to lift the Border-Gavaskar trophy twice on Australian soil.

Hence, the wicket-keeper is well versed with the potential of the Indian team, and he subsequently sees them clinching the trophy in Southampton.

If India has to perform well against New Zealand key players like Kohli, Rohit and Pujara have to step up in their batting against Kiwis as the bowling unit of both sides including the likes of Boult, Southee, Henry and Bumrah, Ishant, and Shiraj respectively.

To get the hold of the conditions, the Indian team sweated it out in an intra-squad practice match, and it would be interesting to see what combination they’ll name in the final. As New Zealand will be coming up to play the final after winning the series against England by 1-0.
