India have had a fabulous time in test cricket in 2019. They have whitewashed West Indies and South Africa this year and are currently at the top of the ICC World Test Championship points table.
The Indian skipper Virat Kohli attended the press conference at the conclusion of the Ranchi test match today and answered all the questions related to Indian cricket.
During the press conference, when Kohli was asked about his views on Sourav Ganguly being elected the BCCI chief, Kohli said it’s “great” that Ganguly is in charge of the BCCI now. But, he denied that he has had any conversation with the Bengal Tiger about the future of MS Dhoni.
“I congratulated him [Sourav Ganguly]. It’s great that he has become BCCI president. He will get in touch with me when he has to. I will go meet him when he tells me to. He has not spoken to me about that (MS Dhoni’s future).” Kohli told the reporters.
When a journalist asked Kohli if the Indian players have any plans to have dinner at MS Dhoni’s residence as they always do whenever they are in Ranchi, Kohli responded with a cheeky answer. Kohli said that Dhoni was actually present in the Indian dressing room and then asked the reporter if he wanted to say “hello” to the charismatic wicketkeeper.
Sourav Ganguly to discuss MSD’s future plans with Virat Kohli and the selectors
A few days ago, Sourav Ganguly had said that he would have a conversation with Virat Kohli and the Indian selectors about the future of MS Dhoni. “I will meet him (Virat) on October 24. I will talk to him like a BCCI president talks to the captain. He is the captain and he can take a call,” Dada was quoted saying by India Today.
There is a meeting of the Indian selection committee on 24th of October where the Indian squad for the upcoming series against Bangladesh will be picked.
