Mallika Sagar

The inaugural Women’s Premier League Auction, which is scheduled to take place on Monday in Mumbai, will be overseen by a female auctioneer, appointed by BCCI. Since this is the first time a female auctioneer has been recruited to preside over a significant cricket auction in India, it is a historic occasion for the BCCI. The top female cricket players in the nation will compete for the highest bids at the enthralling WPL Auction.

Mallika Sagar, a partner in the Art India Consultants organisation and a Mumbai-based art consultant for modern and contemporary Indian art, will be in charge of directing the next auction. Notably, the recent auctions for the 2021 Pro Kabaddi League were conducted by Mallika, a seasoned auctioneer at Pundoles in Mumbai.

Each team must have a minimum of 15 players on its roster and spend at least Rs 9 crore on its squad, according to BCCI regulations. Each team will be granted a budget of Rs 12 crore, with a cap of six foreign players who might be signed.
