Indian Javelin Star Neeraj Chopra is currently gearing up for Upcoming Diamond League where variety of Questions were thrown at him regarding his preparation and other stuff.

A Question was asked to him on his Friendship with Pakistani Javelin Thrower “Arshad Nadeem” to which he said “Let me put this very clear for everyone out here. My Equation with Nadeem is like a fellow athlete. We were never really close friends. It’s Just we have played against each other in distinct tournaments”

After Pahalgam attack the equation between India-Pakistan is completely changed same is with me”.

Neeraj Further expressed his disappointment on abuse that his family had to go through, where he extended invitation to Arshad Nadeem in already decided tournament on 27th May in Bengaluru known as “Neeraj Chopra Athletics Meet” which has been postponed now.

What exactly happened on Social Media with Neeraj Chopra Family? 

Let’s start from the beginning, World Athletics decided to organize an event on the name of Iconic Javelin Legend “Neeraj Chopra” further rewritten into “Neeraj Chopra Athletics Meet” where athletes from all over the world were invited and the ones who did wonders in this event significantly propelled towards next step which means direct qualification to World Athletics Championship organized later this year.

On the eve of 22nd April, 2025 a deadly Pahalgam horror incident took place, where terrorist primarily having connection from Pakistan killed 22 Indian men in front of their spouse and family on the basis of religion.

Indian Government further decided to take revenge from Pakistan where they cut all diplomatic and trade Ties with Pakistan.

Neeraj Chopra team send an invite to Arshad Nadeem(Pakistani Javelin thrower who won gold medal in Paris 2024 Oympics) to take part in event scheduled in Bengaluru.

Chopra sent this invitation ahead of pahalgam incident later when fan got to know this they were shocked that Neeraj sent invite to fellow Pakistani athlete while 22 innocent Indians were killed on 22nd May.

They started quoting her Neeraj’s Mother on Social Media on the statement she gave when Arshad Nadeem won Gold Medal in Paris Olympics and Neeraj won Silver Medal to which she said “Kya hua agar Arshad Jeeta hain woh bhi mera bacha hi hain” this statement received massive praise last year on social media.

The same statement went against Neeraj Chopra family where some people wrote “You considered him (Arshad) as your own son look what their country men are doing to our Country”.

The criticism was justified but it went afar so much so that Neeraj Chopra had to put post where he said “I am a man of few words, I love my country and there are people who are questioning my loyalty for this country. Let me tell you I have extended this invite to Arshad  before 22nd april. I stand strong with my country would request my government to take revenge of this deadly incident. What made me disappointed all the abuses my family have to bear on social media. My Mother was appreciated last year when she made statement about Nadeem when he won gold medal in Paris and suddenly, things have changed now the same people are targeting my family. However I will work even more harder and make India Proud in this Upcoming events. Jai Hindi”

This was the crux that he wrote on his social media giving shutup call to all critics.

However Nadeem is yet to comment on his equation with Chopra.

Post Paris Olympics he is hardly seen competing in distinct events, It would be interesting to see what will be his roadmap ahead of next Olympics.

Talking about Doha Leg of Diamond League, Four Indians are in fray which include the likes of- Gulveer Singh and Parul Chaudhary are set to make their debut as track athletes in India.

Gulveer holds national record in the Men’s 500 meter while Parul is the National Record in the Women’s 3000m Steeplechase.

Neeraj who won Doha leg in 2023 where he threw at a distance of 88.67 me and he also secured second place in 2024 in 88.36 meter will once again be accompanied by fellow thrower Kishore Jena.

He will next face 2024 Olympic Bronze- Winner Anderson Peters of Grenada other athlete like Jakub Vadleijh of Czechia who won this tournament in last edition.

His Biggest challenge will be overcoming German duo including the likes of Julian Weber and Max Dehnning and he would face extreme challenge from Kenya’s Julius Yego an Roderick Genki Dean who hails from japan.

Usually the atheletes belonging to Japan and German have posed threats to Neeraj Off late.
