Football fans are crazy! The sport does have a tendency of dividing fans but it also unites fans from around the world. One of the incidents which united the fans around the globe was Turkey earthquakes which caused deaths to 50,000 people.

During Sunday’s game against Antalyaspor, Besiktas supporters threw thousands of stuffed animals onto the field as a donation for kids impacted by the earthquakes in Turkey and neighboring Syria.

After 4 minutes and 17 seconds, the Turkish Super Lig game—which ended in a scoreless draw—was stopped to enable fans to throw gifts onto the field. Turkey was initially affected by the earthquake on February 6 at 4.17 a.m. local time.

The earthquake fatality toll has surpassed 50,000. Christian Atsu, a Ghanaian winger who played for the Turkish side Hatayspor, was among those killed. On February 18, he was discovered dead beneath the building where he resided in southern Turkey.

Our fans threw scarves, berets and plush toys on the ground of Vodafone Park to be given as a gift to the children in the earthquake region to cheer them up.” – said Besiktas management.
