Afghanistan won the first ODI against Bangladesh by 17 runs (DLS method), with Ibrahim Zadran scoring an unbeaten 41 winning runs. BAN vs AFG 2nd ODI is scheduled to be played on 8 July at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram.

In the first ODI, Bangladesh batted first and scored 169/9 runs, with Towhid Hridoy scoring 51. Afghanistan scored 83-2 in 21.4 overs and hence declared winner by Duckworth–Lewis–Stern method. Das is the second leading run-scorer in the series, with 26 runs in the first inning. He is a dangerous batsman who can score runs and has a good record against Afghanistan. In the first ODI against Bangladesh, Khan bowled nine overs, took two wickets, and gave away only 21 runs.
