Why Tamim Iqbal is irreplaceable for the Bangladesh Cricket team?

Not only three but there are many reasons, why Tamim Iqbal’s retirement is a big blow for Bangladesh. When a batsman with 8000 plus ODI runs, and 15000 plus international runs retire from the International Cricket. Then it is certainly a big blow for the team. The same is the case with Bangladesh. They lost the most experienced batsman, just before the biggest Cricket tournament, which is World Cup. 

Reasons behind his irreplaceability

Iqbal was certainly the most complete batsman Bangladesh ever got. He ensured that he gives a consistent performance in both formats of the game. Due to this he was able to make the complete contribution in all the formats of the game. You can see his records below. 

ODI performance 

Iqbal was certainly the master of this version of the game. He went on to score mammoth 8000+ runs. These are lots of runs in any format of the game. However, numbers are not enough to tell the whole story. He played several great innings, which also includes the inning of 158 runs. With 14 centuries and 56 half-centuries, he is certainly the great Bangladeshi batsman in this version of the game. 

Test Performance 

In test Cricket, he scored 50+ scores 41 times in 70 Test matches. That clearly shows that he was very consistent. He got over 5000 runs and an average of 38.89. For Bangladesh, he is the second-highest run-getter, and at the same time, he has scored the most fifties in Test Cricket as a Bangladeshi batsman. 

T20 performance

He was also a very fine T20 batsman. He even got a hundred in this short version of the game. And his 24.08 healthy average shows that he was a very consistent batsman too. That is the reason he went on to get 7 fifties in T20. 

So, after looking at the above statistics, it is clear that the retirement of Tamim Iqbal is certainly a big blow for Bangladesh. And in a short time, it is not possible to find his replacement.
