TNPL 2023: Stars Who Are Not Part of Any IPL Franchise

TNPL

The TNPL has been a launching pad for young cricketers to make their way to the Indian Premier League (IPL). Varun Chakaravarthy, Shahrukh Khan, Washington Sundar, and T Natarajan are some of the players who have become regulars in the IPL after impressing in the TNPL. However, some former IPL players are now looking to catch the eye of the 10 franchises once again. Currently, without an IPL contract, these players are hoping to shine in TNPL 2023, which is currently underway. C Hari Nishaanth is one of the three TNPL 2023 stars who are no longer part of an IPL franchise.

C Hari Nishaanth
The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have strayed from local talent in the IPL. This didn’t pose any problems as they won their fifth title, but the team didn’t have any Tamil Nadu players on their roster for the 2023 season. One reason for this was the release of N Jagadeesan and C Hari Nishaanth before the auction. Hari Nishaanth, however, is an important part of the Siechem Madurai Panthers (SMP). He leads the franchise and has scored 88 runs in just two matches. Unfortunately, the Panthers are last in the standings and have yet to earn a point. If Hari Nishaanth has a productive TNPL and domestic season, he could make an IPL comeback.

M Siddharth
M Siddharth has been part of two IPL teams, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Delhi Capitals (DC), but has never played a match. The left-arm spinner is currently without an IPL franchise and hasn’t been performing well in domestic cricket. However, Siddharth has the opportunity to make a comeback. In his last TNPL 2023 game against Ba11sy Trichy (BT), he took three wickets for just 13 runs, bringing his season tally to four. With an average of 19.75, he will want to continue performing consistently for Lyca Kovai Kings (LKK), who are close to the top of the table with three wins from four matches.

Baba Indrajith
Baba Indrajith is a highly consistent run-scorer in domestic cricket, but hasn’t had many opportunities at higher levels. He played three games for KKR in IPL 2022 without much success and went unsold in the 2023 auction. Indrajith was also surprisingly left out of South Zone’s Duleep Trophy squad, which shocked Indian domestic cricket followers. However, things are looking up for the 28-year-old. He is currently part of the table-topping Dindigul Dragons (DD) in TNPL 2023. In three matches, he has scored 101 runs at an average of 50.5 and a strike rate of 134.67. A few more good performances could bring him back into IPL consideration.
