Hyderabad Appoints New Head CoachHyderabad Appoints New Head Coach: 2016 IPL Champions and 2018’s runners-up, Sunrisers Hyderabad have appointed Trevor Bayliss as their new head coach. Trevor Bayliss is the current coach of England cricket team who won their first World Cup last week.

Bayliss will replace coach Tom Moody who has had a series of good performances with Sunrisers as their head coach. SRH won their maiden Indian Premier League in 2016 under Tom Moody. In 2018, SRH were the runners-up team. SRH made into the playoffs under Kane Williamson’s captaincy this year. Sunrisers Hyderabad haven’t shuffled the other members of the coaching staff.

The news comes as a surprise from Sunrisers Hyderabad as Tom Moody has been with the team for the last 7 seasons and has proved to be a great addition; SRH made it to the playoffs on five occasions. The franchise announced the appointment in a Press Release and thanked Tom Moody for his service. Tom Moody is also in the line to be India’s next head coach.

Press release read, “We would like to thank Tom Moody, who has made an enormous impact with the franchise, helping us achieve 5 playoff appearances over the past 7 years including a much treasured championship in 2016. We would also like to thank him for his work ethic and leadership over our journey and wish him all the success moving forward. He is a proven winner and we feel that his successful track record will be ideal in taking Sunrisers Hyderabad forward.

Trevor Bayliss is the World Cup winning coach. He changed the fortune of England after the debacle of World Cup 2015. Bayliss is likely to end his journey with England after Ashes.

Trevor Bayliss has also worked with KKR in IPL and under him, KKR won 2 IPL trophies in 2012 and 2014. He has also won Big Bash League and Champions League for Sidney Sixers. Trevor Bayliss will join SRH for next year’s IPL.  There was speculation of Bayliss being re-appointed by Kolkata Knight Riders, however, Sunrisers snatched the ever-so-successful Bayliss.

Can he repeat KKR and England’s winning glory for Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2020? We will see next year in IPL.
