Former Sri Lankan cricketer Muthiah Muralitharan has been named as the most valuable Test player of the 21st Century by the Wisden Cricket monthly magazine.

As per the foreign media, data was collected based on past performances by the player from 2000-2020.

In his illustrious career, Murali has clinched 800 Test Wickets in which he took 573 wickets between 2000 to 2020 from 85 games. His number, without a doubt, are simply magical.

The right-arm spinner also commented on the recent claim put forward by the former sports minister of Sri Lanka Althugamage, claiming that the 2011 World Cup final was fixed.

Murali talked about the four changes that Sri Lankan team went through ahead of the crucial final in 2011 World Cup where he stated that

“If that was the opinion of the selector back then if this was the final decision and if everyone had agreed to it, then that team will play the game,”

Also, Sri Lankan Cricket congratulated Marali on their Twitter handle for achieving the massive feat:

“The World’s highest Test wicket-taker Muttiah Muralitharan has been named as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the 21st Century by the Wisden Cricket Monthly.” Congratulations Murali! #SLC #Murali #MostValuablePlayer #LEGEND #GOAT”.

His friend and former Teammate Mahela Jayawardene wrote on his twitter handle congratulating Murali on his remarkable achievement.

Amazing person who deserves every accolade !!! Congratulations my friend so proud of you.” he wrote.
