Australia all-rounder Mitchell Marsh is all set to play for Middlesex in the Vitality T20 Blast 2020. Marsh will be available for the English county cricket club for all the group stage matches. Though, his contract might see an extension, if the club reaches knockout stages.

“The opportunity to play at this great club with an exciting list of players is something I’m very proud of and hopefully we can play some great cricket and entertain the fans along the way.”

Mitchell Marsh exhibited a good show in the recently concluded Big Bash League. Playing for Perth Scorchers, he amassed 382 runs in 14 innings at an average of 34.73 and a strike rate of 145.25.

He is currently a part of the touring Australian side for the three-match T-20 and ODI series in South Africa. The 28-year old all-rounder has played 53 one-day internationals and 32 tests for Australia so far in his career. He has accumulated 1428 runs in ODI’s at an average of 35.7, while in Test Cricket, the all-rounder has scored 1260 runs and has 42 wickets to his tally.

It’s great to have Mitch with us for the Blast this season,” head coach Stuart Law said.

“The experience he’s had in different T20 competitions around the world will be a real plus for our dressing room. Mitch is a hard-hitting batsman, steady medium-fast bowler, and athletic in the field.

“I’m looking forward to seeing the big man contribute to our season in a positive way. As a tremendous team man and such a loveable character, I’m sure he’ll fit in well with our group.

Overall, it’s the second signing for Middlesex this season. The club has earlier bought the services of Afghanistan spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman. The off-spinner though played for the same side in the previous season. The spinner also shared his experience of playing for the club and is looking forward to playing with the same enthusiasm in the upcoming season as well.

“I enjoyed my time at Middlesex so much, so I am very pleased to be coming back,” said Mujeeb on his return. The whole team, on and off the field, made me feel very welcome and hopefully we can be successful together next season,”Mujeeb Ur Rahman said as quoted by Cricbuzz.
