On Sunday, the Delhi Capitals announced Priyam Garg as the replacement of Kamlesh Nagarkoti. DC fast bowler Nagarkoti will be out for the remaining of the IPL 2023 due to a stress fracture in his lower back.
“Batter Priyam Garg of Uttar Pradesh has been selected to replace Nagarkoti, and DC has signed him for his base price of INR 20 lakh. The offensive hitter was selected by Sunrisers Hyderabad for the first time in 2020 and played in 21 IPL games for SRH over three seasons, according to an IPL media release.

Nagarkoti was chosen by the KKR team to play in the 2018 IPL season. He was unfortunately sidelined for more than a year by a back injury, and he spent the majority of that time receiving treatment. In the 2022 season, he joined the Delhi Capitals organisation after being acquired by the team for Rs 1.10 Crore

Priyam Garg has experience participating in the IPL. He participated in IPL cricket for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Then he was purchased by Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs. 1.90 crore. In 17 IPL games, he scored 251 runs at an average of 15.29. His strike rate was 115.14 at the time. Additionally, Priyam led India as the Under-19 World Cup captain. DC currently lack a strong batter in the middle of the order, and Priyam’s arrival could result in the adjustment.
This season, Delhi Capital’s performances have been quite subpar, and the team is currently at the bottom of the points table whereas as Rajasthan Royals is at the top and leading the table currently.
