IPL 2021: RCB players, support staff leave for home as per franchise’s arrangements

Royal Challengers Bangalore team members including the likes of players, support staff, and other contingents left the bio bubble to reach their respective home after the cash-rich league was suspended midway.

The travel details of their members were shared by RCB on Instagram. The domestic players and staff members have been charted to specific pre-identified hubs and will be subsequently connected to their respective cities, the post mentioned.

Meanwhile, all the Australian players are staying in the Maldives till May 15th 2021 and will undergo subsequent testing, and based on their negative report they will be flying back to their home.

On May 6, a statement from Cricket Australia and the Australian Cricketers’ Association said: “The Australians will remain in the Maldives until the conclusion of the travel pause pertaining to flights from India to Australia”.

On the other end,  all the New Zealand players are on a special charter plane to Auckland, while Ab De Villiers who is the only South African player in RCB will be heading back to Johannesburg via Mumbai and Doha.

RCB skipper Virat Kohli has already reached Mumbai and all the local players will slowly and steadily reach back to their home.
