IPL 2021: Ben Stokes and Jos Butler to open for Rajasthan Royals

Ben Stokes and Jos Butler is all set to open for Rajasthan Royals for the upcoming edition of cash-rich league. The same was revealed by Eoin Morgan who will be leading KKR in IPL 2021.

The Royals will be heading into the new edition of cash rich league under the leadership of Sanju Samson and will be starting their campaign against Punjab Kings on April 12th 2021 in Mumbai.

Morgan talked about Stokes and Butler contribution in the shortest format of the game in detail.

“The more opportunities we’ve (England) given to Jos (Buttler), the better he has got. Very similar instance to Ben (Stokes). The guys just keep getting better and better and better, so it’s our responsibility and the team’s responsibility to present opportunities to them in the biggest moments of the game,” Morgan was quoted as saying in Sky Cricket.

“Obviously, the two of them will be opening for Rajasthan (Royals) this year in the IPL so that’s going to be great to watch. But in a team where you have two superstars opening the batting, as an opposition, I’m thinking, ‘Well, better start well!” he stated

Butler started opening for Rajasthan Royals in 2018 and since then he has cemented his place at the top and with the likes of Butler it will be a deadly combination if they both perform on a consistent basis at the top it will be a different ball game altogether.

Royals who won the inaugural edition of IPL under the leadership of Shane Warne and since then they were not able to replicate the same performance in IPL so far. The new captain Samson will be expected to bring new flair inside the franchise for the upcoming edition of cash-rich league.
