IPL 2020, RR VS MI: Rampaging MI take on unsettled Royals

rr vs mi

With hopes already hanging by thin thread Rajasthan Royals will require nothing less of a comprehensive victory over a magnificent Mumbai Indians side, who are a victory away from securing qualification for playoffs, at Sheikh Zayed Stadium Abu Dhabi. Rajasthan Royals have to be at top of their game and hope that MI have a bad day as well to come out triumphs.

Starting with Royals who have lost seven out of eleven matches and have been constantly chopping and changing the sides which shows that they are yet to find their best eleven. They have lost two close matches to Delhi and Bengaluru but have only themselves to blame. They should fix the Stokes issue as he has been using a lot of balls and when the need is to go big head been found wanting. Smith, Butler and Samson have been hot and cold at times. Parag and Tewatia have done a decent job. Their bowling have also not been upto the mark.

Take Jofra Archer out of the attack and it looks, pedestrian. Unadkat, Rajpoot have not been able to bowl well and have been taken to cleaners. Kartik Tyagi has been good in patches and needs more and more game time. Their spinners have been able to keep it tight but not able to take wickets in the middle phase. They have problems galore and require all X1 players to contribute to winning the remaining matches.

Mumbai looks a complete package in all departments their batting has been brilliant with one of top 6 making big runs or two-three players contributing handsomely. Their bowlers have been brilliant with Boult, Bumrah leading the charge and Nike/Pattinson giving support. Their spinners Krunal and Rahul have been effective and have taken wickets as well to stop the opposition from controlling the middle phase. Rohit who didn’t play the last match was not missed and even if he is rested again for precautionary measures this MI outfit is too strong to be beaten comfortably.

Mumbai Indians look strong and start as favourites.
