Hurricane Beryl Further Delays Indian Cricket Team Homecoming, Check Here For Expected Arrival
The Indian cricket team’s victory parade might have to wait a little longer. Their much-anticipated return home after clinching the T20 World Cup 2024 title has been delayed due to Hurricane Beryl in Barbados. However, Indian cricket team is expected to arrive in India soon.
Having secured a thrilling win against South Africa in the finals on Saturday, the team was initially scheduled to depart Barbados for India on Sunday. However, the threat posed by Hurricane Beryl forced the complete shutdown of the Grantley Adams International Airport, grounding all flights, including the team’s chartered flight.

Stuck in Barbados for three days, the players’ return became a source of concern for fans and officials alike. Thankfully, the airport resumed operations on Tuesday, and news emerged that a special Air India charter flight, dubbed “AIC24WC” (Air India Champions 24 World Cup), was scheduled to bring the team home.
However, even this plan met with a snag. The charter flight, originally planned to take off from New Jersey, USA on July 2nd and land in Barbados by 2 am local time on July 3rd, was delayed in its arrival. This further extended the Indian team’s stay on the Caribbean island.

Indian Cricket Team Likely to Reach On
As of Wednesday morning (India time), reports indicate that the team’s departure has been rescheduled. The Air India charter flight is now expected to take off from Barbados at 4:30 am local time on July 3rd. The flight itself will take approximately 16 hours, with the team landing in Delhi on Thursday, July 4th, at 6:00 am IST (India Standard Time), barring any further unforeseen circumstances.
This delay has undoubtedly dampened the initial excitement surrounding the team’s return. Fans across India were eagerly waiting to celebrate the historic win with a grand homecoming. However, the safety of the players and staff remains the top priority.
