Fans may now easily voice their opinions about cricket players or other athletes in the social media arena. The comments made about them are sometimes chosen to be ignored, and other times they have an impact on the player. A statement made by Sunrisers Hyderabad batter Harry Brook from a few matches ago came back to haunt him after the team lost their third straight game in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 season. Fans didn’t hesitate to remind the Englishman of his remark on social media.

“Many Indian supporters will be saying ‘well done’ tonight. But only a few days ago, they were disparaging me. To be honest, I’m glad I could silence them,” Brook had stated following his 55-ball century against Kolkata Knight Riders.

Brook has only achieved scores of 9, 18, and 7 since that performance. Additionally, the Sunrisers continued to drop these three games, finishing ninth in the 10-team IPL 2023 points standings.

After this supporters have criticised Brook following SRH’s loss against the Delhi Capitals on Monday in the following ways:

The Sunrisers could only score 137/6 in response to a 145-run mark, losing the game by 7 wickets. Even SRH captain Aiden Markram had negative things to say about his batters’ game.
