From Hitting Low in Paris Olympics to Winning Gold Medal: Sift Kaur Samra have come Long Way

India’s Bright Future Shooting Star Sift Kaur Samra might have breathe a sigh of relief after she clinched gold in 50m Rifle 3 position at World Cup held in Buenos Aires on Friday.

She had already won three bronze medals in Previous world cup but this Gold medal would give more confidence in her wing especially it was distorted in Paris Olympics where she was possible touted as one of the medal contenders for India but failed badly.

While describing her experience in Olympics she stated ” Probably the skill was there its just nervousness and not keeping my emotions on check put me behind but now I am over it want to give my best in every tournament I will participate going forward”.

Sift 23 year old sports shooter scored 458.6 points for the final with a score of 590 however her shot in the final was pretty nervous as she was trailing 7.2 points behind Eventual Silver medalist Anita Mangold, Germany player however Kaur pulled herself up reduced that gap in subsequent rounds.

If you look at her performance in Paris Olympics 2024 where she was adjudged at 31st place after she scored 575 points in the qualification based on her talent she failed miserably to make comeback from Olympics to World Cup clearly indicate that she has come long way.

Talking about other developments, Manu and Eisha qualified for 25 meter pistol after they scored 585 and 579 points respectively.

However Manu Slipped out in final round in retrospect to Eisha who bagged silver medal in women 25 m pistol category.
