Pakistan Super League which was postponed indefinitely till June 2021 in Karachi behind closed doors where the remaining matches of the tournament will be played is fallen into jeopardy as the reports suggested that all the franchise has requested PCB to shift the remaining league matches to UAE.
As per the latest developments, PCB is still considering the franchise request but the official confirmation from their end is still awaited.
However, as of now, players who will be taking part in PSL had to reach Karachi by May 23rd to serve mandatory their seven days quarantine before the actual league resumes on June 2nd, 2021.
Pakistan is constantly recording more than 400 COVID cases every day with partial lockdown imposed in some parts of the nation. Notably, the frequency of cases is the highest ever since the first wave of the virus in the nation the previous year.
Keeping the number of cases high in Pakistan every day, the franchise owners have requested to shift the matches to UAE where the number of cases is pretty less and the tournament can be conducted their in a safe and sound bio bubble.
Moreover, the PSL has been one of the most successful ways of bringing back cricket to Pakistan, which is the primary reason behind PCB’s want to hold the curtailed edition in the country.
