Just three weeks after its initial announcement and pre-registration opening, Garuda Saga takes flight, offering an exciting role-playing game (RPG) experience exclusively for Indian players. Developed in collaboration with South Korea-based Alchemist Games, the game boasts characters and elements inspired by rich Indian themes, promising an immersive journey.

“We’ve woven the vibrant essence of India into the very fabric of the game, from its storyline to its characters,” said Anuj Sahani, Head of Krafton Incubator Program and Garuda Saga lead. “We’re excited to bring unforgettable gaming experiences that resonate with Indian players.”

This launch is part of Krafton’s broader strategy of localizing its offerings to cater to the Indian audience. Last year, they introduced an Indian faction in their mobile strategy game “Road To Valor: Empires” and announced Bollywood superstar Ranveer Singh as a playable character in BGMI, one of India’s top-grossing apps.

Furthermore, Krafton pledged a significant investment of $150 million in Indian gaming and interactive entertainment startups over the next few years, demonstrating their long-term commitment to the Indian gaming ecosystem. They also established the Krafton India Gaming Incubator to nurture game development within the country.

These efforts come amidst a booming Indian gaming market. Players are increasingly engaged, spending money on mobile games and seeking deeper gaming experiences beyond casual titles. India is currently the fastest-growing video game market in Asia, with revenue and player base projected to reach new heights in the coming years.

So, what can players expect from Garuda Saga? Players take on the role of Garuda, armed with a bow, navigating treacherous dungeons across multiple levels. As they conquer monsters and acquire new skills, they embark on a quest to save their imprisoned friend and mentor, Allu. The game promises a personalized RPG experience tailored to individual playing styles.

Kipum Jun, CEO of Alchemist Games, highlights the game’s unique appeal: “Garuda Saga’s charm lies in the blend of Indian themes with engaging gameplay mechanics. We’re excited to share the magic of Garuda Saga with the Indian gaming community and continue creating groundbreaking games that resonate with them.”

With the launch of Garuda Saga, Krafton takes a significant step towards solidifying its position in the Indian gaming landscape. As the Indian gaming market flourishes, the future holds exciting possibilities for both Krafton and enthusiastic Indian gamers.
