Esports World Cup 2025 in Riyadh Promises $70 Million Prize Pool and 24 Exciting Games

The Esports World Cup (EWC) is coming back to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from July 7 to August 24, 2025, with a massive prize pool of over $70 million. This huge amount makes the EWC the biggest esports event in the world and shows its commitment to growing the industry. Compared to last year’s event, the prize pool has grown by $10 million, offering even more chances for players and teams to win big. With 24 games and 25 tournaments, EWC 2025 is set to be an exciting celebration of esports.

Ralf Reichert, the CEO of the Esports World Cup Foundation (EWCF), shared that the large prize pool is part of a plan to support the entire esports world. This includes helping players, teams, and game creators succeed. For example, EWC 2025 will bring together over 2,000 top players from 200 leading clubs, making it the largest multi-game esports competition ever. Additionally, the event will feature 24 games, including new ones like Chess, Crossfire, FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves, and VALORANT. Fans can already buy tickets to join the action in Riyadh.

The $70 million prize pool is split across different parts of the event. First, $27 million goes to the EWC Club Championship, a special competition where the top 16 clubs earn rewards based on their performance across all games. The winning club takes home $7 million. Next, over $38 million is shared among the individual Game Championships, where players compete in their chosen games. Also, $450,000 is set aside for MVP Awards to honor the best performers. Finally, more than $5 million supports the Road to EWC qualifiers, helping players earn their spot in the main event.

The first EWC in 2024 was a huge hit. Over 500 million people watched online, and 2.6 million visitors came to Riyadh to experience the event in person. Team Falcons won the Club Championship and claimed the $7 million prize. Team Liquid and Team BDS took second and third places, respectively. This year, EWC 2025 aims to be even bigger, with more games, players, and excitement.

The EWCF is working hard to help the esports industry grow. For instance, they’ve teamed up with big game companies like Riot Games, Activision, and Capcom. These partnerships provide resources to make esports competitions stronger and more stable. Additionally, the EWCF Club Partner Program supports 40 top esports clubs by giving them money to build their brands and connect with fans worldwide. These efforts show that EWC is about more than just one event, it’s about creating a bright future for esports.

Besides the tournaments, EWC 2025 will host the New Global Sport Conference in Riyadh on August 23-24, 2025. This event brings together leaders from esports, gaming, sports, entertainment, and technology to talk about the industry’s future. It’s a chance to share ideas and plan for even bigger things ahead.

The Esports World Cup 2025 is shaping up to be an unforgettable event. With a record-breaking $70 million prize pool, 24 thrilling games, and thousands of talented players, it’s a celebration of skill and passion. Moreover, the event’s focus on supporting clubs, players, and game creators makes it a key part of the esports world. Whether you’re a fan watching from home or cheering in Riyadh, EWC 2025 promises to deliver excitement and inspire the next generation of gamers.
