At the Newlands Cricket Ground in Cape Town on Sunday, Australia defeated South Africa by a score of 19 runs in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 championship final. South Africa, chasing a goal of 157 runs, reached 137/6 in 20 overs, with Laura Wolvaardt’s fifty-six being ineffective. Megan Schutt, Ashleigh Gardner, Darcie Brown, and Jess Jonassen each claimed a wicket for Australia, who had strong bowlers.
Previously, Australia scored 156/6 in 20 overs thanks to Beth Mooney’s unbeaten 74 runs off 53 balls, which included nine fours and a six. Shabnim Ismail and Marizanne Kapp, who were both in excellent form, each took two wickets during this time. Australia’s third consecutive T20 World Cup victory and sixth overall were both made possible by the victory. Beth Mooney is named Player of the Match in the final. Whereas, Ashleigh Gardner’s incredible all-around performance at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 earned her the title of ICC Player of the Tournament.

Before this, Australia defeated India in semifinal to make there way to the final whereas SA defeated England in the second semifinal to play in finals.
