Who will be next England White Ball Captain after Jos Butler?

England had a disastrous campaign, in the ongoing Champions Trophy 2025, where the repercussions is already seen as skipper Jos Butler have relinquished captaincy duties after losing against Afghanistan by 7 runs.

It would be interesting to see how will resume captaincy duties post Butler decision to step out from leadership duties.

Before we dive further into how will be replace Butler as leader we need to understand that Three Lions won T20 World Cup 2022 under his leadership.

Butler form has been dipped to the core, if you closely observe series against India- he didn’t performed with the bat and how he fared in Champions Trophy where he is batting at extreme lower order speaks volume about his confidence as batter.

Butler expressed that he would continue playing for England but he wants someone else to take up captaincy duties and take English Cricket Forward.

My Perspective: 

Harry Brook being Vice Captain would be front runner to lead English Cricket going forward.

Harry Brook form is biggest concern however, management should back him with the kind of talent he possessed on the table.

English Cricket needs to work on their balance, otherwise they would fall short in retrospect to other teams.

England have lot to ponder who would be next leader for Three Lions going forward.

Talking about Champions Trophy 2025, India would be next locking horns against New Zealand on 2nd March 2025 where both teams have already qualified for the semifinal round that will be take place on 4th and 5th March 2025.

The two finalist will meet each other on 9th March 2025 where the winner would be crowned as next Champions Trophy winner.

As per reports, Rohit Sharma, Mohammad Shami might skip last match against Kiwis due to Injury concerns, in retrospect, Rishabh Pant and Arshdeep Singh would easily replace them.

Indian Cricket Team have certain balance in all three departments- spinners, fast bowlers, batters and all rounders who can deliver the most when the crunch phase of the game appear.
