Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar celebrated his 50th Birthday yesterday on 24 April and one day later a very special gift came for him all the way from the United Arab Emirates. The cricket Stadium at Sharjah in honor of the legendary batter renamed one of their stands to Sachin Tendulkar stand.

The official Instagram page of Sharjah Cricket Stadium released the pictures of the stand and fans are simply loving it. A full fledged ceremony took place to give a perfect gift for the batter who already had his name engraved on the stadium thanks to his outstanding record.

The God of Cricket had splendid numbers at Sharjah during his playing days as he scored 1,778 runs in 42 innings with an average of 48.05. His best knock at the ground was of 143 and in total he has seven half-centuries as well as full centuries.

“Unveiling the Sachin Tendulkar stand at Sharjah Cricket Stadium was a moment of pride and nostalgia. Celebrating the legendary cricketer’s 50th birthday and 25th anniversary of his Desert Storm innings made it even more special!” – Sharjah Cricket Stadium wrote on Instagram.

Talking of his best knock, way back in 1998, Sachin Tendulkar stormed Australia by scoring 143 in the Final amid a Dessert storm at the Sharjah Cricket ground.

Meanwhile, other than this, Sydney Cricket Ground also renamed one of their gates in the honor of Sachin Tendulkar and West Indies legend Brian Lara. All of the players who will now play at the SCG will walk by the Brian Lara-Sachin Tendulkar gate.

Sachin also has the most runs in both forms, scoring 15,921 runs in Tests with an average of 53.78 with 51 hundreds and 68 fifties, and 18,426 runs in ODIs at an average of 44.83 with 49 centuries and 96 half-centuries. The Master Blaster also holds the distinction of becoming the first cricketer to score 200 runs in Tests and smash a double hundred in ODIs.
