Indian women’s team has been nothing short of exceptional in the ongoing women’s T20 world cup 2020. After topping the group A with four wins in four games, Harmanpreet Kaur and Co. have reached their maiden semi-final in a T20 World Cup on Thursday.
The Women in Blue was scheduled to play against England in the first semi-final of the world cup. However, the match was called off with the rain playing spoil-sport. And eventually, a superior group stage performance helped India reach the finals of 2020 World T20. They will meet the winner of the second semi-finals in the final on Sunday.

Meanwhile, India legendary player Mithali Raj has come up with a special video to inspire team India to lift their first World Cup trophy. India’s limited over’s skipper is seen playing cricket in a saree-an attempt to break the stereotypes.
Raj featured in the video for a television advertisement for a multi-national brand. The promotional video has been surfacing on social media ahead of the women’s day which will be celebrated on Sunday. Interestingly, women’s ICC World Cup final is also on the same day and it would be a delight to watch Indian women playing a final on a day that is dedicated to them.
I'm an admirer of what #MithaliRaj has achieved but I'm not too sure about this playing in a saree thing. She's a role model, in her cricket whites and India blues itself. https://t.co/vkQbRJZEto

In the video, Mithali can be seen playing a flamboyant cover-drive in a saree. It also mentioned Mithali’s accolades and achievements and at the same time thanked her for inspiring youth in living on your own terms.
Mithali Raj has been an icon for women’s cricket for over two decades. India’s limited over’s captain has played over 200 one-day internationals for the team. She is the first woman to have scored over 6000 runs in one-day cricket and has seven centuries to her name in one-day internationals.
