Multan Sultan  ahead of PSL 2021 main event which will start from 20th February 2021 has named Mohammad Rizwan their new skipper to lead the side.

He has been replaced by veteran batsman Shaan Masood it seems strange as last year Sultans made it to the PSL playoffs for the first time under Masood’s captaincy.

As it is a roller coaster ride for Rizwan who has performed exceptionally well for the national side right from playing in New Zealand to playing against South Africa in their home conditions. With the kind of form he is in will be threat to all franchise for the upcoming league.

“Mohammad Rizwan has shown exemplary leadership qualities with the Pakistan team as well as with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the Domestic tournaments,” said Multan Sultans owner Alamgir Khan Tareen. “We are excited to have him lead our team for the upcoming season of the Pakistan Super League.”

However Rizwan was delighted with his appointed as skipper of the side which will have experience players like Shahid Afridi, Sohail Tanveer and Shan Masood to which he added that he will aspire to get better this time and work with the senior players which will improve his craft as player and leader both for years to come.

“I have understood the innovative approach the franchise applied last season and am looking forward to playing my part this year,” said Mohammad Rizwan.

During the recent series against South Africa he scored his maiden Test century in the second game before scoring a stunning T20I century in the subsequent T20I series.
