‘Pakistan will have to beat England in all departments to win matches’- Misbah Ul Haq

Misbah-ul-Haq

Former Pakistan skipper Misbah Ul Haq and also the current head coach of the Pakistan cricket team has said that his team needs to England in the upcoming series.

The series with England is due to begin with the first Test match from August 5 at Old Trafford in Manchester. Misbah has said that his side needs to overwhelm England “in all departments”.

“If you want to win a game against a good team then there are challenges always in your way. It’s not like you go out and win it with ease. When you are playing in other’s conditions, you have to beat them in all departments to win a match,” Misbah was quoted as saying to ESPNCricinfo.

PCB announces 20-man squad for England series

Almighty England is in a scintillating form after defeating West Indies in the Test series by 2-1 last week and also won the Wisden Trophy. Besides, the ODI team led by the World Cup-winning skipper Eoin Morgan has also defeated the neighbours Ireland in a three-match series.

Misbah also backed his bowlers especially the pacers as he said, “Our bowlers are in good form and there are encouraging signs but it depends how we play those conditions and how we play the game, and exploit them in our favour.”

The Test series will be a part of the World Test Championship and winning the series will help the winning side climb up in the WTC points table.

England is currently third in the rankings with 226 points while Pakistan is at the fifth place with 140 points.
