Get Ready to Witness More India-Australia Hockey Matches in 2025

The Indian Men’s Hockey has found its lost glory back and credit should be given to all the stakeholders who have worked hard behind the scenes to make this entity extremely popular.

Orissa Government along with Hockey India and SAI should be credited for bringing massive transformation in setting infrastructure where Indian Hockey can grow and flourish at the same time.

Talking about the latest development, Australia and India Hockey team will more often play against each other primarily in 2025.

This news was confirmed by Hockey Australia Chief Executive Officer (CEO) David Pryles who was in Delhi on the occasion of Australia- India Sporting Excellence forum, where he stated that very soon you would witness Hockey India & Hockey Australia will sign Memorandum of Understanding(MOU) where matches among these powerful rivals will be announced.

He added that Australia needs to embrace more indigenous players in our squad otherwise some of the top players might retire from the sport and the latest to join the bandwagon is none other than Brooke Peris(Women’s Hockey Star) and we still have to work on those program where Indigenous players would be celebrated.

Hockey is certainly one of the most popular sports in Australia played in distinct regions and infrastructural setup by Hockeyroos(Name abbreviated for Australian Hockey Team) could be understood by the fact that any player which gets an opportunity to perform in FIH, World Cup or Olympics they leave indelible mark with their performance.

He concluding his discussion by touching on two important factors which include- FIH Pro League matches where Australia and India can play more often against each other and Field Goals should be given priority instead of penalty corners as the former gives an important opportunity to open any match and most importantly reduce any career threatening injuries.

Talking about Indian Men’s and Women’s Hockey team performance has been one of its kind as both these teams have stampede their authority in recently concluded matches of FIH(Federation of International Hockey) tour.

Indian Men’s and Women’s Hockey team would be eyeing to hit another nail in the coffin by winning medals in Los Angeles Olympics which is to be held in 2028 respectively.
