England all-rounder Moeen Ali will be gearing up to play for CSK in the upcoming season of IPL 2021.
He was purchased for Rs 7 crores by the franchise.
In his recent interaction, Ali shared his thoughts on why MS Dhoni is a brilliant captain and why every player wants to play under him in IPL.
The 33-year-old off-spinner stated that I have interacted with several cricketers who have played under Dhoni and they told me that their game has improved a lot under Captain Cool.
He further noted that every player desire to play under the captaincy of Dhoni.
“I’ve spoken to players who have played under MS and they tell me how he improves their game. I believe a great captain does that,” Ali was quoted saying by the official CSK website. “It’s something on every player’s wish list to play under MS. I think it’s the confidence and the clarity he gives people. It’s exciting,” he stated.
Ali who recently played for RCB talked about his new franchise in detail where he highlighted the aspects that separate CSK from other teams in IPL.
“I think what differentiates CSK from other teams is actually how they structure everything… from the squad they have to the way they do things. They look a very calm franchise that doesn’t panic,” he further said.
He further stressed that the senior players take huge pressure off from players. The franchise has had former New Zealand captain Stephen Fleming as its the head coach since 2009 while MS Dhoni has led them since 2008.
“At CSK I feel the reality is there for us to win the competition. I’m excited about playing with the players we have here. It’s very important to have strong leadership and coaches who stay calm, who take the pressure off the players as much as they can, and are consistent. We are very lucky we have that,” Ali concluded.
