He has scored 673 runs in 11 innings at an average of 61.18 in 2002 World Cup edition. Australian batsman Mathew Hayden is placed second with 659 runs in 10 innings at an outstanding average of 73.22, followed by Mahela Jayawardene and Martin Guptill in the third and fourth position respectively. Mahela has scored 548 runs in 11 matches at an average of 68.88, while Guptill amassed 547 runs in 2014/15 editions in nine matches at an average of 68.37.
