Trent Boult starred with the ball as MI New York defeated Washington Freedom by 16 runs in the Eliminator of the Major League Cricket (MLC) 2023 on Friday. Boult took a sensational 4-wicket haul by conceding mere 20 runs in his 4-over spell. He crushed Washington’s batting lineup to help his team secure a crunching win of 16 runs in the playoff.

The MI New York team was put on to bat first and with help of Dewald Brevis’ fifty, the MINY posted a defendable target of 141 for 7 in their 20 overs. However, Washington Freedom’s batter failed to reach the target as they were restricted for 125 at the loss of 9 wickets in their 20 overs.
Boult was in excellent form with the ball, bowling with pace and accuracy. He got the ball to swing early in his spell, and he was also able to extract bounce from the surface. He dismissed Matt Short, Glenn Phillips, and Akeal Hosein with his swinger ball, and he also picked up the wicket of Marco Jansen with a cracking delivery that got him caught in the hands of David Wiese.
