Indo- Pak Championship Trophy 2025: Why the Mother of All Battles looks one sided now?

The Indo-Pak teams are no more a match these days in ICC events as Men in Blue have went miles ahead of Men in Green.

Whether it is based on skill, conceding less dot balls, proper all rounders, fast bowling, spin bowling and top order batting, India marches ahead of Pakistan in all departments of the game which makes Pakistan no match for Men in Blue.

1. Too Defensive Approach in Batting: 

Men in Green had petty defensive approach in batting especially, as they are playing defensive cricket instead of playing attacking cricket which is modern day requirement.

They have failed to capitalize first 10 overs in the game, where they score 40-50 odd runs which is way far behind the requirement of modern day cricket.

If you closely look at their recent performance against India, between 11-20 overs, Pakistan scored 27 runs and faced 36 dots which is roughly 60 percentage in comparison to India who scored 45 runs and played 25 dots which is roughly 41.7 percentage.

2. Worst Fielding Side: 

Pakistan certainly have worst fielders in their squad, be it dropping catches or making sure to miss crucial run outs and stumpings makes them one of the worst side in the tournament.

Pakistani team is certainly lacking game sense, and they need to improve that as the fielding standard set by top teams like India, Australia, England and New Zealand would be hard for men in green to catch.

3. Middle order encounter: 

Pakistan certainly lack middle order batting and strike rotation is something that they have even forgotten to do instead they are playing several dot balls with no attacking approach in the game.

Just look at recent Indo-Pak battle, Rizwan and Saud Shakeel failed to capitalize middle order, where Saud Shakeel scored 62 runs from 76 balls with a strike rate of 81.58 and Mohammad Rizwan scored 46 runs from 77 balls with a strike rate of 59.74.

In retrospect, Indian batters average was above 80 which clear tells the distinct difference between approach of both team batters.

4. Playing 80s cricket and relying on past milestones in modern day cricket: 

If you closely observe how Pakistan Cricket plays Cricket at the moment, Men in Green still stuck on their past glory be it 2017 Champions Trophy winning team & 2009 T20 World Cup winning team.

The Kind of cricket they are playing 80s cricket instead of template that should be followed by 2025 due to which they lack to post competitive total once they come out to bat.

5.  Selecting Players on Favoritism, not on Merit: 

When you select players based on favoritism not on Merit, then results will be the same as the player which comes on favoritism is likely to not perform in the crunch phase of the game where their skill is still underdeveloped instead someone who knows how to handle pressure and execute their best performance in the crunch phase of the game.
