Dwayne Bravo named face of 10PL-World Cup of tennis ball cricket

10PL – a tournament that is being tipped as the World Cup of tennis ball cricket, has named Dwayne Bravo as its face for its third edition. A brainchild of UAE-based company Petromann, which was started by Mr. Abdul Latif Khan, the tournament is valued at a total of 250,000 Dirhams.

The third edition of the tournament will be played from 8-13 March 2019 and will be held at the same venue as its first two editions – the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Sharjah.

A media release quoted Bravo as saying: “I am delighted to be the face of the 10PL World Cup of tennis ball cricket tournament. I have learned a lot of my key tricks that I’m sure many of the players in the tournament will employ, especially the use of slower ball and yorkers. The tournament, therefore promises to be the perfect platform for raw talents to showcase what they are capable of. I am really looking forward to this competition.”

The white-ball specialist will be present at the press launch of the tournament in February, and also at the final in Sharjah.

Abdul Latif Khan, chairman, Petromann Events said: “It is an absolute honor to have Mr. Bravo as the face of the tournament. In the coming days, we will be unveiling a campaign with Mr. Bravo to further raise the profile of the tournament.”

Apart from tennis-ball cricketers, a few international cricketers have also played the tournament – former Pakistan wicket-keeper batsman Zulqarnain Haider and former Sri Lankan Test cricketer Chamara Silva among others.

Speaking about the format Mr. Abdul Latif Khan said: “This format is very popular in the Indian subcontinent and the Middle East. It is the World Cup after all hence we have such huge prize money on offer. I am confident that the third edition will reach even bigger heights.”
