Dream11 IPL 2020: Rituraj Gaikwad tests negative for Covid-19, joins CSK camp

Ruturaj Gaikwad

After conducting two negative tests, CSK batsman, Rituraj Gaikwad has made his way into the bio-bubble along with his CSK members on Monday. The news was confirmed by CSK franchise after uploading a picture of his on their Twitter handle. Gaikwad wasn’t available for the selection in the CSK’s first game against Mumbai Indians as he was quarantined in his hotel room.

Ahead of the start of CSK’s training session, the management were dealt with a huge blow after 13 members of CSK contingent, including two players, Deepak Chahar and Ruturaj Gaikwad, were tested positive for coronavirus. While Deepak Chahar joined CSK’s camp a few days before the opening game against Mumbai, Rituraj showed positive results even after staying in isolation.

However, in the recent developments, it has been understood that the Rituraj has tested negative in the recently conducted test and thus is allowed to play alongside his squad members. While the CSK batsman has joined the CSK camp, it remains to be seen whether he will be available for CSK’s second match against Rajasthan on Tuesday or not.

With Suresh Raina not in the team, Rituraj Gaikwad is likely to get a lot more chances for CSK this year. Murli Vijay, who opened for CSK in the last game, looked scratchy in the last game. Dhoni, though, would give a bit more chances to adapt to the conditions and get back into his groove.

MS Dhoni and Co. have started the tournament on a winning note after beating Mumbai by 5 wickets in their first match. They will play their second match against Rajasthan Royals on Tuesday at Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
