‘If CSK lose today, they can bid goodbye to their campaign’, reckons Aakash Chopra

Former Indian cricketer, Aakash Chopra has stated that CSK’s game against SRH on Tuesday is the most important one as this could be the last chance for them to make a comeback in the tournament.

Chennai Super Kings have had a horrendous run in the tournament so far, having lost 5 out of their seven games in the tournament.

“Tonight will be the most important night in CSK’s campaign. Because if they lose today, they can bid goodbye to their campaign. This is the last chance for them, if not today then never.”

After their last defeat against RCB, MS Dhoni did emphasise on making a couple of chances in the next game. Aakash Chopra believes that CSK should play either Josh Hazlewood or Imran Tahir in place of Sam Curran in the next game

“I feel CSK can play Josh Hazlewood or Imran Tahir for Sam Curran.”

Chennai Super Kings made a strong start in the tournament after registering a 5-wicket win against Mumbai Indians. However, things went downhill after that as they lost three games in a row. Dhoni and Boys are currently languishing at seventh position. They need to showcase a heroic effort from here to get themselves through to the playoffs.

Aakash Chopra reckons that CSK should bat with a carefree approach in the next game and opt to bat first if they win the toss against KXIP on Tuesday.

“And then they have to bat in a carefree manner. They should hopefully win the toss and should not play in a conservative fashion. The one match they batted fearlessly, they won by 10 wickets.”
