Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja will not be attending the training camp in Chennai ahead of the team’s departure for the UAE. Jadeja will be missing the pre-season training camp due to his personal reasons and also got permission from the management.

The training camp will take place between August 15-20 before the team’s departure to UAE for the IPL 2020 starting from September 19. The entire team including the skipper MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu and Harbhajan Singh will be practising under the bowling coach Lakshmipathy Balaji

Jadeja will be joining the side on August 21 i.e., on the day when the team will fly to the UAE. Team CEO Kasi Vishwanathan spoke about Jadeja’s absence as he said, “He has personal commitments,”.

Vishwanathan also said the Tamil Nadu government had given the clearance to the team to conduct the training camp at the MA Chidambaram but behind closed doors.

Rest of the coaching staff including the head coach Stephen Fleming and assistant coach Michael Hussey are expected to join the team on August 22 in Dubai.

The side is also expecting two of its South African players Faf du Plessis and Lungi Ngidi to join the squad on or after September 1.

“When we spoke to Faf and Ngidi they said yes, we are coming. They have said that they will only be coming after September 1,” Viswanathan said.

The IPL will kick off from September 19 and the tournament will span for 53 days and finals will be played on November 10.
