IPL 2022: Top 5 Dangerous Bowlers in LSG

MOST DANGEROUS BOWLERS IN LUCKNOW SUPER GIANTS

IPL is one of the most viewed tournaments among other cricket leagues. The Indian Premier League comprising of ten teams has a huge fan base from all around the globe. While all the teams have amazing players, here is a list of some of the most dangerous bowlers in Lucknow Super Giants.

Most Dangerous Bowlers in LSG

1. SHAHBAZ NADEEM

One of the most under-rated spinners in the domestic circuit, Shahbaz Nadeem has a natural ability to be consistent with his probing lines on and around the stump. A regular in the Delhi Daredevils set-up since the 2011 IPL, Nadeem had to fight reputation and rewards to claim his spot in the playing eleven.

Surprisingly, Delhi Capitals bid for him yet again in the 2018 auctions, and the left-arm spinner ended up playing six games at an average of 37.00 along with a healthy economy rate of 7.00. He was eventually bagged by the Sunrisers franchise ahead of the 2019 edition as a part of trading that saw Shikhar Dhawan move to Delhi at the expense of players like Vijay Shankar, Shahbaz Nadeem, and Abhishek Sharma.

2. AVESH KHAN

Avesh Khan is a nippy seam bowler who can move the new ball very consistently, he can also generate extra bounce off the length. When in fine rhythm, he can generate 140 Kmph on the speedometer. Avesh is a typical modern-day fast bowler who brings a lot of variations. He can bowl off-cutters, and leg-cutters and has a knack to bowl a variety of slower balls.

3. RAVI BISHNOI

At 21, wrist-spinner Bishnoi is the most exciting young player on the team and one who has a realistic chance of being a regular in the squad. He was given a massive boost of confidence after being retained pre-auction for his team for INR 4 crore, and is now part of India’s T20I squad too, and won the Player-of-the-Match award on his international debut.

His quick-arm mix of predominantly googlies with the odd leg break thrown in makes him hard to put away. Ravi Bishnoi was the emerging player of the tournament in IPL 2020, his first season, and is a livewire on the field as well.

4. ANDREW TYE

Brought in to arrest a dwindling campaign, Andrew Tye struck gold in his very first match, picking up a hat-trick en route to his fifer to finish with the best numbers by a debutant in the IPL – 5/17. His ‘knuckle ball’ – too good for most big names – became the talk of the town throughout the season. He triggered a bidding war between CSK, RR, and KXIP in the 2018 major auction, finding a new home in Punjab for 7.2 crores INR, and he impressed immediately with 24 wickets and the Purple cap under his name.

5. ANKIT RAJPOOT

Ankit Rajpoot was picked by the Chennai franchise in 2013 on the back of impressive performances in the Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament. A 20-year-old pacer, on debut, dismissed Ricky Ponting with a short ball. He played only select matches for two years.

The 2018 Indian Premiere League auctions saw him being signed up by the Kings XI Punjab. He bagged a fifer against the Sunrisers franchise – 5/14 – and that’s the best bowling figures by an uncapped player in the tournament. Keeping that and another Man of the Match award-winning performance against Delhi, Rajpoot was on the expensive side. Rajpoot is an essential player for his team considering his record.
