It would be an interesting ride to work with Gautam Gambhir in the upcoming IPL season for Lucknow Supergiants: Kl Rahul

Team Lucknow finally had a name in IPL it was seriously a no brainer as they named the franchise “Supergiants” which was taken from early anecdote from their defunct side Rising Pune Super Giants who came in existence when two franchise Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals were banned from IPL for two years as some of their players were alleged into match fixing.

KL Rahul who has been roped in as captain of this new franchise and Gautam Gambhir joining as the mentor will be a key combination going ahead of the marquee event. Along with Rahul, Marcus Stonis and Ravi Bishnoi as uncapped player has been picked by the franchise.

Kl Rahul who had a dismal outing in leadership in recently concluded ODI series against South Africa where Men in Blue lost the entire series by 0-3.

Rahul added that Gambhir’s advice will help him a lot in his leadership and added that the latter’s fighting spirit and determination will help our entire squad in the crunch moments of the game.

“Always been an admirer of him and how he has captained KKR when he played and his aggression. So there’s so much to learn from him as well, so I’m very excited about this journey. The auction’s coming up in a few weeks’ time, which is making me a little nervous, but that is the exciting part of the IPL, so fingers crossed.”

The franchise has also roped in Vijay Dahiya as Assistant Coach and the latter has worked with KKR in the past and the great minds like Andy Flower has been appointed as the head coach of the franchise.

The next edition of IPL is all set to start from last week of March which will have 74 matches.
