Early Life & Journey:
Abhishek Sharma was born on 04th September 2000 in Amritsar, Punjab. He was born to Rajkumar Sharma, who is currently a bank employee but was a cricketer in the past, and Manju Sharma. He has two sisters.
The player had an early interest in cricket and it was evident during his school life in Delhi Public School. The player got a chance to be mentored by W V Raman and Rajan Gill during his early days. Considering the talent the player possessed, he was selected for the Vinoo Mankad Trophy. The talented youngster grabbed the spotlight with an extravagant century. He continued to perform at the higher level as he led the U-19 team to an Asia Cup victory in 2016.
Following the performances, Abhishek Sharma was called up for the Under-19 team heading to the World Cup. At the last moment, he was replaced as captain by Prithvi Shaw but he continued to remain an integral part of the squad. After a stupendous World Cup triumph, the player was signed up by Delhi Daredevils in a deal worth INR 55 lakh in 2018 auction.
Abhishek Sharma made his Indian Premier League debut against Royal Challengers Bangalore at Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in May 2018. He used his chances in the best possible way as he scored 46 runs from 19 deliveries to post a challenging total.
Considering his fine performances, Sunrisers Hyderabad picked him in the Indian Premier League auction 2022. In the 2022 season, he played in 14 games and scored 426 runs at a strike rate of 133.13 and an average of 30.3. He had two half centuries in that season. He also did help his side with bowling as he controlled the run flow in the games. He is one of the brilliant all rounders to watch out for.

In the first innings of his bowling, Abhishek picked a wicket in 27 overs while with the bat, he was too good to handle for the opposition. He scored 94 runs and missed a well deserved century. Though the match ended in a draw, he grabbed the headlines.
