Owing to his stellar performance in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, KL Rahul was purchased by Royal Challengers Bangalore as a wicket-keeper batsman in the 2013 edition of the Indian Premier League. The following season he has moved to Sunrisers Hyderabad for INR 1 crore.
Ahead of the 2016 edition of the Indian Premier League, KL Rahul was once again brought back to RCB. He ended the season as the third-highest run-getter of the tournament, scoring 397 runs in 14 matches.
