Watch Shikhar Dhawan talk about his ego clash with this Star Indian batter!

Competitiveness in Indian cricket is getting higher with each passing year and especially after the invention of grass root leves and franchise cricket, talent never goes unnoticed. One such talent is in Shikhar Dhawan who appeared into the International white ball scene as an Opener alongside Rohit Sharma.

The duo was one of the most formidable openers in the country and a lot of people believed them to be the next version of Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir. They did play for a lot of time together even in ICC tournaments and the 2013 Champions Trophy triumph was mainly because of Rohit and Shikhar.

They have 5108 runs between them in 112 innings but now that pairing is no longer considered for India as Shikhar Dhawan has been replaced by the likes of Shubhman Gill, KL Rahul and Ishan among many more names. The Delhi born leftie batter has become an outcast and his chances in the Indian team has shrinked.

The 37-year-old recently appeared in an interview with Lallantop and revealed a lot of things from his time while playing for India. He spoke about Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni and many more things just a few weeks ago. In one of the moments in the interview, Dhawan spoke about his relationship with Virat Kohli and how it was to share the dressing room with his statesman.

“Virat is a good friend of mine. We share good camaraderie and always enjoy healthy banter. He is a senior player at Team India. I can pull his leg, young players can’t. He’s a big player. He has achieved so much. We exude good humour and bonhomie since our early playing days.” – said Shikhar Dhawan

Some might know that Shikhar Dhawan was actually senior to Virat Kohli at the national level before the latter made his debut for India and became senior to Dhawan. At times players might or might not get jealous or bring in their ego and when Shikhar Dhawan was asked about the same, this is what he had to say :

“Agar ego par lelogey to tussle aygi he aygi. Ye to ego ki baat agyi na. If I continue to think that I’m a senior and I’m playing under him. Then there will be ego. It’s all frivolous thinking to me. And there’s no need to have that. It’s of no use.”
