Currently, Shikhar Dhawan is not playing for the Indian team. For India in recent years, the seasoned left-handed opener has been a pillar in the white-ball formats. The team management is currently trying to play younger players in ODIs, though. It implies that Dhawan needs to put in some effort if he wants to have any chance of making a comeback.
He is still competing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and is motivated to make an impression. In the interim, Dhawan shared a humorous video on Instagram with the following caption: “What is the purpose of February 14th, Kis baat ki? The guys and Valentine 2023”
What are your plans for Valentine’s Day, bro? In the video, a man asked Dhawan.
The famous cricketer responds, “If there is no angel written in fate, what is the point of 14 February?” Agar kismat mein na likhi ho pari, toh kis baat ki 14 February.

Team India was captained by Dhawan in the ODI series against Bangladesh, which the visitors lost 2-1 over the course of the three games. Ishan, although being on the losing side of the series, stood out after scoring his first ODI double century in the third game. Dhawan had a forgettable series, scoring just 18 runs in three games, which led to his exclusion from the squad for the ODIs against Sri Lanka and New Zealand.
However, Indian Spinner Ravichandran Ashwin defended Dhawan and referred to him as a “stalwart of white-ball cricket.”
In 167 ODI games for India, Dhawan has amassed a staggering total of 6793 runs, including 17 hundreds and 39 half-centuries.
