Star Sports to earn whopping Rs. 50 crore during India vs Australia: Report

Star Sports is the biggest media organization in India when it comes to the game of cricket. The media outlet gives everyone a platform to endorse your product in front of billions of people in between a cricket match. The upcoming series against two heavyweights, India and Australia, will be a golden chance for any company to make it’s brand a worldwide phenomenon.

According to a new report, the media organization is all set to rake in a whopping amount of Rs. 50 crores on television and digital platforms. The series comprises of three One-Day International games which will be played across Rajkot, Bengaluru, and Mumbai.

It is believed that 90 percent of their revenue will come from television while the additional 10 percent will be coming through their official streaming-service, Hotstar that airs the match live too.

Jigar Rambhai, the national director for sports and entertainment partnerships at Wavemaker India, believes that this is the time when various banking institutions, insurance companies, and financial services will get active and put their advertisements out. Also, playing Australia is always a big deal and it is no different this time.

 

Cricket will always deliver as a media property in India. Every time India plays in the homeland brands will always want to come on board,” Rambhia said.

“This is the time when banking, financial services, and insurance (BFSI) brands will grab the opportunity to advertise as tax filing happens they get active in the last quarter of the financial year. Australia is also an important team to play against so it will be a good series,” added Jigar Rambhia.

Last time, the Aussies defeated India in their own backyard and will look to trounce the Men in Blue once again. Meanwhile, India clinched the historic Test series win against Australia in 2019. Both teams will give their 100 percent to give the audiences everything they want to see.

 

The first ODI between India and Australia will take place on January 14 in Mumbai while the second game will be played on January 17 in Rajkot. Meanwhile, the third and final match will be played in Bengaluru on January 19.
