Orlando Magic arrive at Walt Disney Resort without three of its key players

NBA team Orlando Magic has finally arrived at the Walt Disney World Resort and entered the “Bubble” prepared by the league for the NBA restart from July 30.

The side landed in Florida earlier today but the side’s president Jeff Weltman that three of its players didn’t come to Orlando as some of them tested positive of the coronavirus

“We did have one player test positive in the last round when the NBA kind of released its second batch, that was a little while ago now. So, that player, I’m not at liberty to speak about it, but that player is following the protocol and we’re hoping that he can join us shortly.” Weltman addressed the media via a Zoom call on Tuesday.

Markelle Fultz, Al-Farouq Aminu and the third player didn’t wish to disclose his name was barred to join the side in Orlando.

Fultz had returned on the floor for the Magic after almost two injury-plagued seasons but then the season was suspended on March 11 after Rudy Gobert tested positive of the coronavirus.

Fultz is expected to join the squad in the later stages of the tournament before the playoffs. While Al-Farouq Aminu has been under rehab at the Magic’s facilities. He was out of the side since November after sustaining a torn meniscus which ruled him out indefinitely. Al Farouq Aminu is currently averaging 4.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists for Magic this season.

As the players have arrived at the Walt Disney World resort, they will first undergo the self-isolation norms before starting with the group training.

Orlando Magic will be facing Brooklyn Nets on July 31 when the season resumes and it is one of the nine teams from the Eastern Conference to compete in the remaining games of the season.
