New Orleans Pelicans’ star rookie, Zion Williamson has urgently left the NBA bubble for his personal commitments due to his family’s emergency. 

The team’s management said that the 20-year-old Williamson had to immediately leave Orlando for attending an urgent family medical matter, however, he will be joining the team back in a later date. 

“We fully support Zion’s decision to leave the NBA campus to be with his family,” David Griffin, the Pelicans’ Executive Vice President said. 

Hopefully, there is nothing very fatal going on in his family but his presence would surely be needed to address the problem. And is Zion us tested daily even after away from the bubble, he may only have to spend only 3-4 days in quarantine before joining his teammates in the bubble on his return. And in case, he does not undergo tests daily, he will be mandated to be in self-isolation of at least seven days. 

New Orleans Pelicans had landed in Orlando on July 8, almost a month before the season resumption. The entire team including Zion looked in a terrific shape ahead of the reason restart. He was training rigorously at his residence during the lockdown to keep himself as fit before the season suspension. 

Williamson made his debut for Pelicans in January and so far he has been a whopping package of delight for the fans averaging 23.6 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists in over 23.2 minutes per game. 

The Pelicans enter the season restart as 10th seed in the Eastern Conference and an overall record of 28–36 this season. The Pelicans will be facing Utah Jazz on July 31 (IST) when the season resumes.
