Kyle Jamieson

This Star New Zealand bowler hopes to make a comeback for upcoming England Series

After a protracted injury absence, speed bowler Kyle Jamieson of New Zealand is trying to regain his rhythm in time for the forthcoming two-Test series against England. Due to a stress reaction in his back, the lanky seamer was forced to leave the field during the second Test against England at Trent Bridge in June of last year.

Since that time, he hasn’t participated in an international match. He was added to the 14-person New Zealand team on Friday for the start of the test series against England on February 16 at Mount Maunganui.

After making a remarkable comeback in domestic cricket, Jamieson will now be targeting a place in the playing XI following his extended period of rehabilitation. “It’s good to be included in the squad and back in the fold for the first time in a while” said Jamieson.

“My body feels great, and I’m eager to rejoin the group. I’ve bowled many overs throughout training and practise; now I just need to get back into the swing of things. Since I’ve spent a lot of time bowling to empty nets, seeing a few hitters in the middle and witnessing the ball being hit is a bit of a change.”

Despite the fact that New Zealand last won a Test series in 2021, he stated he has complete faith in coach Gary Stead and the support personnel. Of sure, Jamieson replied.

Because our coaching staff has such high regard from the playing group, we haven’t given it much attention. The players on the New Zealand team were a close-knit group who had great faith in the coaching staff, he said.
