Williamson, Santner, Jamieson head to Maldives on commercial flight

Kane Williamson

New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson and speedster Kyle Jamieson along with the likes of Mitchell Santner have headed for the Maldives rather than staying in bio bubble in Delhi.

As per the reports, are to believed Kiwi players were not feeling safe staying in the bubble till the 10th and decided to take a commercial flight to the Maldives and from there they will be traveling to UK.

“Kane and few others from New Zealand were not feeling safe in Delhi because of the COVID situation there. That is why they decided to fly to the Maldives,” a Sunrisers Hyderabad official revealed.

IPL 2021 has been suspended indefinitely due to a breach in biosecure bubble when players who were part of cash-rich league started testing positive with COVID-19 and in the end BCCI had no choice left other than terminating the tournament for an indefinite period of time.

Also the Maldives has been picked by several overseas players especially Kangaroos players who can’t go back to their home till May 15th 2021 as the Australian government has restricted all the flights from India which is regarded in the red zone list after getting severely affected with novel coronavirus.

All the Australian players have already reached the Maldives and they will be staying there till May 15th before heading back to Australia.
