New Zealand Pace Bowler Kyle Jamieson ruled Out Of England Test Series

Due to a stress fracture that returned in his back, fast bowler Kyle Jamieson of New Zealand was forced to withdraw from the England Test series on Tuesday. Matt Henry, a seam bowler, will also miss the opening Test at Mount Maunganui starting on Thursday because he is expecting his first child.

Jamieson, 28, had not participated in any international cricket matches since his back injury on the England tour in June. Jamieson participated in a New Zealand XI warm-up game last week against England without experiencing any pain, but New Zealand coach Gary Stead reported that a scan had found another fracture.

Stead stated, “Kyle has worked so hard to get himself back on the park; it’s very terrible for him to have this happen.” Even though Kyle isn’t in any discomfort, it’s very obvious from the evidence that he has a stress fracture.

Jamieson will travel back to Christchurch for additional scans and could spend a lot of time out of commission.

For the first Test, New Zealand’s roster will include Jacob Duffy and Scott Kuggeleijn, two uncapped players, in place of Jamieson and Henry.

Despite a tropical storm’s heavy rain, the day-night match is slated to start on time at 2:00 pm (0100 GMT) on Thursday. Henry ought to be available for the February 24 start date of the second Test in Wellington.
