T20 Blast 2021:Mohammad Amir to play for Kent in the upcoming season

Former Pakistan speedster Mohammad Amir has signed a contract with  Kent County cricket club for the second half of England county’s premier T20 competition known as The Blast.

According to the latest developments, the left-arm pacer will be expected to play for seven group stage matches for Kent.

He will also participate in the Hundred for London Sprit under the captaincy of Eoin Morgan. Spirit is a franchise that represents Middlesex, Essex, and Northamptonshire counties.

Amir has played previously in county competition for Essex between the seasons from 2017 to 2019.

The 29-year-old bowler who was in his prime retired from  International cricket retired after having issues with current Pakistan team management. But he has expressed his aspirations to play in the T20 leagues all over the world.

His best performance came in the big events in which his national side won T20 World Cup and Champions trophy in 2009 and 2017 respectively.

However, he has expressed his intention to return to his national side only when the current management which includes officials like Misbah Ul Haq and Waqar Younis is no longer associated with PCB.

He is elated to Join Kent now and will be starting his campaign against his former County side, Essex, on June 25th  in Chelmsford.

“I am excited to join a Kent team full of potential,” Amir said as quoted by Cricket Pakistan. “I have always enjoyed playing at Canterbury and I hope I will be able to help Kent win a trophy this year,” he added
