5 Reasons behind Downfall of Pakistan Cricket
Pakistan Cricket is in absolute shame, with early exit in Champions Trophy 2025.
Men in Green have even failed to qualify for the semifinalist spot in 2023 World Cup and 2024 T20 World Cup respectively.
Let’s Ponder 5 Reasons behind absolute downfall of Pakistan Cricket in detail to be shared in the below format:
1. Inconsistency when it comes to backing players:
Pakistan Cricket Board as well as stakeholders have shown immense inconsistency in backing players who can deliver for them.
The insecure environment in the ecosystem instill fear in the mind of players where they are not sure about their place in the team due to meager failures.

2. Pakistan Cricket Board Administrational Changes:
Yes you heard it right, in order to run Pakistan Cricket you don’t need involvement for people who are politically backed.
If you closely observed, Interior Minister of Pakistan, Mohsin Naqvi is President of Pakistan Cricket Board.
Holding 2 important positions clearly means, decision making when it comes to making Cricket choices, is in shatter.
Pakistan Cricket Board, Chairman is appointed by Prime Minister of Pakistan, who holds the position of Patron in Chief.
They need to make amendments in their law, let Cricketers become PCB Chairman who can make those choices. also the concerned person should be given a chance to stay there for brief period where they can make administrative changes in the system.
3. There is immense talent in Pakistan its just they are not selecting right players:
Yes you heard it right, there is definitely talent in Pakistan Cricket at domestic levels its just they are not getting chances to play for the national side as explained by Jason Gillespie(Former Australian Bowling coach) .

4. Over relying on Babar & Shaheen:
Babar Azam and Shaheen Shah Afridi are certainly superstars produced by Pakistan Cricket.
Their current form is not upto the mark, that might be due to comparison of these players, with Indian superstars like Virat and Bumrah.
Azam and Shaheen need to change their template otherwise they will fall behind big time in International Cricket.

5. Lack of Adaptation in Modern day ODI cricket:
The year might change, but the way Pakistan is playing Cricket at the moment it seems that they are living in 1990s where 240 was par total.
They need to change their approach, otherwise if these structural changes are not adopted then you might see Pakistan will fall in the list of West Indies and Sri Lanka who have completely failed to dominate at International Cricket.
My Perspective:
Overall if you look at Pakistan Cricket it is all over the place due to insecurity, fear of failure, poor template and most importantly seeking power and positions within the team instead of playing for the nation.
